Oliver Rose (Micahel Douglas) and Barbara Rose (Kathleen Turner) seem to have the perfect marriage and the perfect life. They have a beautiful suburban home. But when they find themselves alone together after the children have left home, their ideal of tranquility is disrupted by arguing. Arguing becomes a fight that they cannot win with words. The fight deterroates into divorce proceedings. But neither is willing to conceed either the defeat of their marriage nor the home they love. Their beloved home becomes the battlefield for a war. Combing martial arts and hand-to-hand combat, the Roses will fight to the bitter end, if necessary, to avoid having to admit fault or defeat.
